Camp Mivoden Guest Information

You, the guest, are our first priority here at camp MiVoden. We have a few guidelines we would like to share with you to ensure your safety and convenience during your stay with us. If you have any questions feel free to ask one of our staff members they will be happy to do their best to assist you.

Equipment

Please use our activity equipment – the climbing wall/challenge course, mountain bikes, canoes, horses, the blob, etc… - only under the supervision of MiVoden staff.

Swimming

Swimming in our improved swimming area (ski dock and blob areas) and indoor pool is only allowed when a MiVoden lifeguard is on duty. If you choose to swim outside of our improved swimming area in the lake you can expect to find various hazards. For example; the east side of the sandbar drops off steeply into the lake, and along the shore to the south of camp boulders are submerged just under the surface of the water. Swimming in these areas is at YOUR OWN RISK. MiVoden does not recommend swimming at any time or anywhere without a lifeguard on duty.

Class/Activity sign ups

Your family will select a “signup group” at registration on Sunday. Each evening the group you are a part of will have an opportunity to sign up for the next day’s activities taking turns going first, second etc. in order with the other 4 groups (there are 5 total sign up groups). Thank you for respecting all our guests and following this system.

Curfew

We ask that dorm areas begin to quiet down no later than 10:30pm and all areas are quiet by 11:00pm

Forest

Be careful if you choose to explore the forest surrounding MiVoden. The ground is very steep in some places, most notably along the shore to the south of the camp buildings.

Vehicles

Please park your vehicle in the paved parking lot which you pass through on your entrance to camp. When people park above or below the camp dormitories it often makes it impossible to drive camp vehicles on those roads.

Off Road Toys and Personal recreational equipment

If you bring your own off road recreational vehicles to camp, motorcycles, four-wheelers, etc…, please use them outside of the main camp complex on the many trails that go through the forest surrounding camp. MiVoden assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage to personal equipment brought to camp or injury caused by camper use of personal recreational equipment. Also please do not use bicycles in the main part of the MiVoden campus.

Prohibited Items

We ask that you not bring alcohol, illegal drugs, firearms, tobacco, or explosives onto camp property. No candles or open flames are allowed in any of the buildings except under the direct supervision of MiVoden programming staff.

Pets

We can sadly not allow pets to be brought to camp.

Sabbath

We celebrate Sabbath here from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. We consider this time to be sacred time and a unique opportunity to deepen our relationship with our awesome creator God. We invite you to join us in making this a time of spiritual renewal for everyone at camp. If you have questions about what this means, feel free to ask one of our staff.

Emergency Procedures

In the event of an emergency such as a fire, missing person, traumatic injury, etc…, immediately alert a MiVoden staff member. If a staff member is not available contact 911 from the nearest telephone. Telephones are located in the main office and cafeteria food service office.

In the event of a fire, a bell will be rung and all campers are asked to immediately assemble on the beach. In the event of a missing person, both the bell and an air horn will be sounded and campers are asked to immediately assemble on the lower road in front of the dormitories.

Camp MiVoden does not provide medical supervision, treatment, maintenance, or the dispensing of medications for campers. A basic first aid station is available in the main office.
