Camp MiVoden's Upgrade Blog

by: Bruce Christensen

January 13, 2010

This is the start of a blog that will keep you updated on the progression of Camp MiVoden's Upgrades. I will upload pictures and try to keep up on the stories.

Camp Mivoden's New Conditional Use Permit (CUP) was signed into effect June 8, 2009. The process of obtaining that Permit took a period of five years. That story would need to told one on one if you were interested in such things as County Politics.

What is important is that God's timing is very different than man's. There were many dissapointments along the way but He carried us through and I mean Carried.

Since the approval we have started constructing a new atheletic field which has both a Softball field and a Soccer/Football Field. it is located close to the New Climbing Wall and the New Challenge Course. Eventually the new gymnasium will be located right adjacent to the field. It is close to being completed and will be ready to use this summer, at least the 2nd half of the summer. It is a much needed improvement and it will be vey nice.

The trees taken off of the area will be cut and used in the new cabins both as beams and knotty pine paneling. All of the top soil was stripped and screened and it will be reused on the field. We screend gravel on-site and 6" of gravel was applied to the field before the top-soil.

There is so much to tell but I will tell it in small snippets so the reading doesn't take up a lot of time.

Thanks for everyone's support. You and I know what an amazing impact camp has on people's lives so please follow with interest.
